Our History

When Southampton County Club was founded by John Strycharz and Bud Czelusniak in 1951, it consisted of a nine-hole golf course and a tobacco barn. Since that time the club has continued to grow – first with the addition of a clubhouse in 1952 and then with the expansion into an 18-hole course. In 2010, we went through another big expansion with the renovation of our new clubhouse.

Today, Southampton Country Club is operated by John’s two sons, Jim and Tom Strycharz. Together, Jim and Tom continue the tradition of family ownership that began in Southampton over six decades ago.
